How to Remove Metadata Before Sharing an Image

A photo can contain information that is invisible when you simply look at it. Before publicly sharing sensitive images, it can be useful to inspect metadata.
Common image metadata
Examples include camera manufacturer, camera model, capture date, orientation, software, GPS coordinates, exposure settings and descriptive fields.
Inspect the file first
Use a metadata or file-inspection tool where available. Do not assume metadata exists or has already been removed.
Remove unnecessary metadata
