YAML Ain’t Markup Language is a human-oriented data serialization format used heavily for DevOps and app configuration, introduced by Clark Evans et al. / YAML.org (2001). YAML makes Kubernetes manifests, CI pipelines, and Compose files readable with indentation instead of braces.
